Homemade Pizza

I found some pizza dough at my local Trader Joe’s and decided to make a quick and easy homemade pizza recipe using some ingredients I had in the fridge. My kids loved helping make this pizza and thought it was delicious! This easy homemade pepperoni and mushroom pizza paired nicely with our house salad tossed with Fran’s vinaigrette.

Homemade Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz store-bought pizza dough, room temperature
  • ½ cup of pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1½-2 cups of mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Pepperoni, to taste
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms, sliced very thin
  • 2 tbsp yellow or red onion, sliced very thin
  • Fresh pineapple, cut into small chunks (or canned pineapple tidbits)
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds, crushed well
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • 1 tbsp shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped

How to Make a Homemade Pizza:

Let the dough sit on a floured surface for 20 minutes before rolling it out.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

Roll the dough into whatever shape and size of pizza you desire.

Place on a round or square baking sheet coated with olive oil cooking spray.

Spread sauce evenly on the pizza. Top with mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, pineapple, fennel seeds, basil, and Parmesan cheese.

Place it in the oven and bake for 10-14 minutes, until your desired crispiness.

Remove from oven and add fresh parsley. Enjoy.
