Balsamic and Garlic Flank Steak with Blue Cheese Crumbles

I grew up eating steaks with a blue cheese butter sauce that my Dad makes. It’s the most wonderful topping (in the world), but it isn’t very healthy. I recently tried this balsamic and garlic flank steak with blue cheese crumbles recipe, and I loved it. The balsamic flavors from the marinade paired well with the blue cheese crumbles. I loved this steak and thought it paired nicely with my house salad drizzled with Fran’s vinaigrette and a loaded baked potato.
Balsamic and Garlic Flank Steak with Blue Cheese Crumbles
Ingredients:
- 1 lb flank steak
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- Sea salt & freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Serving:

How to Make Balsamic and Garlic Flank Steak with Blue Cheese Crumbles:
Marinate the steak by combining balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper to taste in a Zip-lock bag. Add the flank steak to the bag, and coat it with the marinade. Refrigerate for 6-24 hours.
Cook the steak by heating a large cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook for 4-5 minutes, per side, depending on the desired degree of doneness.
Remove from heat and let sit for at least 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain of the meat.
Finish the steak by topping it with some blue cheese crumbles over the meat. Serve immediately and enjoy.
