Ingredients

semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl and mix them well.
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth, light in color, and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix in the egg and vanilla.
Gradually add the flour mixture until just combined.
Stir in most of the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mix until thoroughly distributed.
Gently press the mixture into your pan.
Scatter the remaining chips over the top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops of the cookie bars are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire cooling rack completely before cutting and serving.
Store in an airtight container.
