Meanwhile, heat the refried beans or spicy pinto beans in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the tostadas by layering the crispy tortilla with warm beans, sharp cheddar, lettuce, black olives, tomatoes, green onions, cilantro, and cotija cheese.
