Halibut with a Lemon Dill Sauce

I like simple, good ingredients to enhance the flavor of fish. This halibut with a lemon dill sauce recipe is a light and flavorful dish that is easy to make, takes little time, and is very good for you. We all, especially my daughter, love this halibut recipe, and think it pairs nicely with homemade tartar sauce, garlic rice, roasted tomatoes, and some crusty bread.
Halibut with a Lemon Dill Sauce
Fish Marinade:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1-2 tsp dried dill)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- Zest from 1 lemon
- 2 small fillets of halibut
Other Ingredients:
- 1 lemon juiced
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Serving:
- Tartar sauce
- Lemon wedges
How to Make Halibut with a Lemon Dill Sauce:
Make the fish marinade by combining the olive oil, dill, garlic, and zest in a large zip-lock bag, and mix well. Add the fish, coating the filets in the marinade.
Marinate in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours. Side Note: Do not add lemon juice to the marinade; the acid in the lemon will start to cook the fish.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Coat a large baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Place the fish in the baking dish and drizzle the lemon juice all over each filet, and top each with a tablespoon of butter.
Cook the fish by placing it in the oven and bake for 7-10 minutes, until it flakes easily.
Remove from the oven and top with parsley.
Serve with tartar sauce and lemon wedges. Enjoy.
